HOUSE OF PAIN" - The True Life Story of Bela Lugosi

The story is told by Phil Marshak who hired Dan Gordon in 1982 to write the screenplay based on his life. Phil spent over a year having lunch with Ed Wood who gave him a plethura of information. He also had enough hindsight to seek out the doctor and nurse who were the attendings at the sanitarium where he committed himself to to avoid a divorce. Of course they are all dead now, but he was able to obtain very valuable information in order to tell this story. We are currently in the process of attaching a director, as well as reviewing actors for the role. As I am sure you know, there has never been a film made depicting the life of the most famous Dracula of all time! Why not I said? When I was a kid I was obsessed with him to the point where my father made us a wooden toy box and we bailed it out to make a coffin. For this reason, I wanted to be part of telling his story. We thought it might be interesting to see who your readers feel should play this role. Of course we have our own opinions, but prefer to keep that confidential. We are on target to begin shooting this year, which as you know is the 50th anniversery of Bela's death in 1956. We are really interested in his fan base. When we were seeking archive materials at a famous place in Hollywood, the owner told us that to this day, of all the movie stars ever in the world, Bela Lugosi is still number one in still photo sales!! And, whomever buys them, buys everything she has and they can't even keep them in stock. You have to order. We seek the help of Bela's devoted fans to create a magnitude of public interest in this role and ultimately the film.
